Cedar Knoll has a busy stretch of golf events coming up, so let's get into it.
Last Call: Ayer Open Registration Closes Wednesday
If you are on the fence about the Ayer Open, now is the time to get off it. Registration closes this Wednesday, and payment is due at the time of sign-up. If you are already registered, please get your payment in this week. Stop by the Pro Shop or give us a call and we will get you taken care of. Pricing is available over the phone and was listed on the event flyer.
The Ayer Open is one of our Majors, so the winner's name goes up on the plaque in the clubhouse. Beyond that, we have a buffet-style lunch after the round, a shootout, a most accurate drive contest for both men and women, and closest to the pin on every par 3. If you make a hole-in-one anywhere on the course during the tournament, your 2027 membership is on us. See everyone Sunday.
Firecracker Scramble: Get Paid Up
The Firecracker is closed to registration and has been for a while. If you are on the list, great. But we do have a waiting list, and we need everyone paid up by this Sunday, June 28th. Stop by the Pro Shop or give us a call. We would hate for someone to lose their spot over something this simple, so please do not put it off.
DB Men's Invitational — July 17-19

The DB Men's Invitational is named for Duane Bissonette, the original owner and farmer of the land Cedar Knoll sits on today and the father of one of our founders. It is our signature partner event and one of the best weekends of the year.
The format is two-man best ball over three days. Here is how the weekend breaks down:
Friday, July 17th — 1:30 PM Shotgun
Practice round, Super Skins Competition (higher buy-in, bigger payout), and hors d'oeuvres.
Saturday, July 18th — 9:00 AM Shotgun
Competition and post-round lunch.
Sunday, July 19th — 1:30 PM Shotgun
Competition, post-round lunch, and awards and send-off.
Bring your best partner, enjoy the course, and spend a weekend with a great group of guys. Stop by the Pro Shop for entry details.
Scotchball — Sunday, July 26th
Scotchball runs on tee times on July 26th. If you have not played the format before, here is how it works: both players tee off, then each hits their partner's ball, you take the best of the two and finish the hole out in alternate shot. It is a great format for pairs and one of the more fun events we run all year.
Grab a friend or your spouse and get signed up. Contact the Pro Shop to get on the list.
Instruction with Denise Doyle
We say this every chance we get: there is nobody better. Denise Doyle is one of the finest golf instructors anywhere, and we are incredibly lucky to have her here at Cedar Knoll. She has seen it all, and she can fix it all.
Every lesson with Denise includes video analysis, a training plan, drills, and practice guidelines to keep you improving long after you leave the range. Whether you are just getting started or you have been playing for decades, she will meet you where you are and help you get better.
Here is what she has going on right now:
Junior Golf Camps — Ages 7-14 — $275
Denise's junior camps are one of the best things we offer at this club. Each session runs three days and covers range instruction, on-course play, and daily snacks. Spots are capped at 6 kids per session and they fill up fast. Upcoming sessions:
June 29 – July 1
July 13 – 15
July 20 – 22
July 27 – 29
August 10 – 12
If you have a kid who has been curious about golf, or one who already plays and wants to get better, get them signed up.
Ladies Golf Lesson Series — Session 2
Session 2 of the Ladies Golf Lesson Series runs Thursday evenings June 25 through July 16, from 5 to 8 PM. Each session covers range work, on-course play, and time on the deck. It is social, it is fun, and it genuinely works. Keep an eye out for future sessions.
Private and Group Lessons
Private adult lessons are $110 for 60 minutes. Two-person lessons are $140. Group clinics with 4-6 students are $30 per person. If you have never taken a lesson with Denise, make this the year you do. You will not regret it.
New to Golf
Just getting started? Denise runs a four-week beginner program for $120 per person, designed to get you swinging, get the ball airborne, and actually enjoy the game. Groups of 4-6, and private arrangements can be made if you have your own crew.

Congratulations to Our VT Amateur Qualifiers
Last week, Cedar Knoll hosted one of four qualifying sites for the 2026 Vermont Amateur Championship, and we are really proud of how the day came together. A big congratulations to the four Cedar Knoll members who earned their spots in the field at Ekwanok Country Club (July 7-9):
Jim Brett — T2 (75)
David Grebe — 8th (81)
Michael Wehner — T9 (82)
Kameron Cyr — T14 (83)
Four qualifiers out of one club at one site is a great result. We are rooting for all of them at Ekwanok. Go get it, guys.
To everyone else who came out and competed, thank you. Having so many of our own members in the field made the day that much better, and the course was in great shape for it. We are proud to have hosted.
See you out there,
The CKCC Team
