General Update, Week of 5/24

Hello everyone,

The weather has taken a turn for the best and we’re very quickly hoping for a nice soaking rain one of these upcoming evenings. Our grass is growing like a weed (a dream problem to have) and the outside crew is very excited with how beautiful everything is looking. Memorial Day weekend was awesome and the soft launch for Red’s Bar and Grille went off without a hitch! Looking forward, leagues start to operate on a more consistent basis and dinner specials begin to make regular appearances. To start we’ll talk about tee times. Jane sent out an email a few days ago asking that everyone refrain from emailing their tee times. Pro-shop staff is spread thin right now as we deal with the constraints of COVID-19 regulations and do not have the time to check emails throughout the day, especially on busy ones. We are asking that you make your tee time over the phone by calling the pro-shop any time from 6AM to 8PM. There are no guarantees that we will get your request via email, especially if you are asking for a tee time day of or next day.

Next we have three club events coming up in quick succession the Senior Championship Sunday June 7th, a gross stroke play event. Following the Senior Championship is the club-wide member-guest, open to all players, Sunday June 14th, a two person scramble format. And rounding out the three is the 26th Annual Ayer Open, two person best ball format, Saturday June 27th. We do have an outside event taking place this weekend on Saturday and some tee times are booked off, so make your Saturday tee times now.

From the kitchen we have a smoked wing special for this weekend. I will be ordering 80 pounds of chicken wings and smoking them all for a delicious weekend meal. Our menu is also adding some new items and vegetarian options for pre-existing items. Remember to make reservations for outdoor seating ahead of time or there is no guarantee that there will be a table available for your party. Thank you!
