Upcoming Events

If you’re 17 years of age or younger, you can play in the junior division. If enough juniors are playing, we will have multiple divisions! If enough women are signed up, we will also have multiple women’s divisions.

There is no entry fee for this tournament so there is literally nothing to lose. The best part? Your winnings from this tournament are used towards your 2026 membership dues.

We strongly encourage everyone to sign up for this event! The deadline to get in is Wednesday at noon.

Scotch Ball

The Scotch Ball takes place on Sunday, July 27th.

What’s Scotch Ball? This format is also sometimes referred to as modified alternate shot. Both partners tee off and then each partner plays the tee shot of the other. The team then determines what ball they want to play and will alternate shots until the ball is holed.

There will be a mixed flight, a man-man flight, and a women-women flight, assuming participation is high enough.

Some Items We Need to Address

We just want to preface this section that most folks who play at CKCC are not doing the things listed below. Despite this, we are noticing these issues increasingly and want to nip them in the bud!

Item 1: Online Tee Times

There has been a significant uptick in no-shows. This is not fair to other players and is really impacting tee time availability. To address this issue, we are making some changes effective immediately…

  1. We are now tracking no-shows and may have to restrict bookings for certain people who repeatedly abuse the system.

    1. A no-show is defined as making a tee time and either…

      1. Not showing for the tee time.

      2. Showing up with significantly less players than the slot was booked for.

      3. Cancelling less than 3 hours before your tee time.

    2. If you need to cancel less than three hours in advance, please contact the Pro Shop by phone. We have prevented our system from allowing cancellations on that short of notice.

  2. We totally understand if you cancel on short notice owing to weather or other pressing personal matters.

  3. Guests who repeatedly no-show will only be allowed to book 2 days in advance.

  4. Members who repeatedly no-show will be downgraded to guest in the software, this means only being able to book 5 days in advance.

At the end of the day, please just let us know if you can’t make a tee time. If you know three hours in advance, ensure your tee time is cancelled through your “Reservations” tab in the portal. If something comes up inside that three-hour window, just give us heads up by phone.

Item 2: Cart Modifications

We have found quite a few carts that have had their speed governors modified. This is extremely dangerous given the fact that we have many steep slopes out on the course. Our cart attendants are checking all carts as they come in and are matching the carts that have been modified to the names on our cart check-out/in list.

If you notice that a cart is faster than it should be (you can easily tell) please let our Pro Shop or starter/ranger staff know! If you’re one of the folks doing this, please stop.

Denise Doyle lesson flyer

On top of these great offerings, she also wants you to know that her Junior Camps have availability also! These camps run on the following dates…

  • July 21st – 23rd (9AM to 12PM)

  • August 12th – 14th (9AM to 12PM)

I just took a divot and made a pitch mark, what now?

1: Your Divot

Congratulations on your beautiful shot into the green. Now, you’re left with a divot in the middle of the fairway. Please make sure you replace the divot if you can. Not sure that you can replace it? Check the included video to know when replacement is possible and when it will need sand.

If the divot cannot be replaced and needs sand, you can leave it. Our grounds crew regularly goes through and applies sand to shattered divots!

2: Your Pitch Mark

Man, you stuck that shot tight! To try and keep conditions great for the players behind you, please do your best to repair your pitch mark! We’re including a video on how to do it properly…

Congratulations, Tom Borys!

Tom Borys and friends posing for a picture

What could possibly be rarer than a hole-in-one? How about an Albatross.

This Sunday, Tom Borys achieved the most difficult single-hole score in golf with two immaculate shots on 10 North. The odds of making an Albatross? 6 million to 1.

The near-unbelievable achievement was witnessed by Lee Bangsund, Brad Spence, and Steve Clark.

In other news, he didn't even buy me a drink!

Congrats, Tom!

That's all, folks! We hope to see you this weekend for the Club Championship!
