Rain, blessed rain!
Even with the rain we have received today, the course is extremely dry. Today has helped but we could still use more. 3-4 more days ought to be enough!

The 3rd Annual Ladies Invitational : August 24th
Three years ago, Elise and Marie Ayer decided they wanted to help make a difference in the world with one of our club tournaments. For the past three years, they have organized a silent auction and raffle that is paired with this tournament with proceeds going to a charitable organization.
In our first year, the event supported VT Flood Victims, last year, it supported Champlain Valley Canine Rescue and the UVM HopeLodge. This year, all proceeds from the auction and raffle are going to AgeWell, an organization that provides services to older Vermonters.

The event is a bargain deal, with entry at $125 per team. This entry fee includes a practice round, cart & golf on Sunday, a tee gift, and luncheon following the event. The format for this event is a 2 person, 9-hole best ball and 9-hole scramble. Any combination of member and guest are welcome, it could even be a guest and guest team!
The 14th Annual Raymond Ayer Memorial : August 30th – 31st
This event is one of the most popular on the calendar. It is a Ryder Cup format with three, evenly numbered teams. There are two 9-hole matches each day. In the morning, you play with a partner from your team against a twosome from another team. In the afternoon, you’re dropped into the fray to face an opponent from another team alone. The matches for this tournament are all based on handicap so you’re always toe-to-toe with your opponents.
Entry for members is $85 and includes golf and cart for both days of the event and includes a big lunch discount.
The Duane Bissonette Men’s Invitational : September 12th – 14th
We have been hard at work over the past few years trying to grow this event. We think we’ve come up with a decent formula and really want to pitch it to you!
Entry to this tournament is $350 per team and contains, so, much, stuff… You get golf, cart, and food every day.
The tournament takes place over three days. Friday is a practice round and “Super Skins” competition. Entry fee for skins is DOUBLE the normal amount and payouts are huge. Following the round we will have ample hors d’ourves and a Calcutta on the registered teams.
The real competition begins on Saturday and goes through Sunday. The format? 2-person best ball. Saturday features a lunch that can be eaten mid or post round, Sunday features a sumptuous lunch following the round. We will also do awards following the round Sunday so you don’t have to wait to collect.
Any combination of member and guest are welcome, it could even be a guest and guest team!
Past Events
Since our last newsletter, there has been only one club event, the Club Championship. We had some issues with precipitation during the event but managed to get it in!

Instruction Information
Unfortunately, Denise has set a date for her season-end departure. She will be heading home on September 15th. If you’re looking to sharpen your game before our upcoming events, she has her same slate of recurring clinics, found below!
In addition to the excellent, regular clinics, Denise is also offering a couple on-course playing lessons at a discounted rate.
The offering? A nine-hole playing lesson.
The dates?
August 20th – 10AM
August 22nd – 8AM
The fee? $70 per person for the lesson, cart & greens fee handled separately.

Something unique happened this year, we had to cap memberships! We found this necessary to ensure adequate course time for existing members. Now that the year is turning over and kids are heading back to school, we have made the decision to open a limited amount of slots.
For those unfamiliar with this deal, here is a quick explanation. CKCC offers 2026 membership slots at their normal price and you can join as a first-time member while also being able to play the rest of the 2025 season. The payment for your membership must be paid in two parts, half at the time of joining and half after January 1st, 2026.
More details on this deal are to follow and will be released a few days before the promotion begins. When does the promotion begin? September 1st! An email notifying people that the promotion has begun will go out when all details are finalized.
